Malvaceae (the Hibiscus Mandala)

Malvaceae is the family name for the genus Hibiscus, a species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Pronounced “Mal-vace-e-a” (Like the world “Mall”, “vace” as it should sound, Long “e”, and a short “a”.) Malvaceae is the fourth release in the Floral Mandala Collection from Glendon Place.

General Information: Stitched using 2 thread of floss over 2 threads of fabric. A total of 15 colors of Dinky-Dyes hand-dyed silk floss, 4 colors of Mill Hill Beads, and 1 color of Sullivans floss were used in the model.

NOTE: Due to the number of Dinky-Dyes Silk Floss colors required for this design, I have provided Sullivans/DMC/and Anchor comparable colors to make stitching this design more affordable.  However, it is very important to keep in mind that Dinky-Dyes Silks are variegated in color, some more than others.

Fabric: Stitched on 28ct Havisham (New color 2020) Cashel Linen by Picture This Plus.
